geography

Here at Moat Farm Junior School, we believe that high-quality geography education should inspire in pupils curiosity and fascination about the world and its people, that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. We aim to provide children with the knowledge about diverse places, people ,resources, and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of Earth’s key physical and human processes.

The world is an amazing place

Examples

The most amazing place I have ever been is Mongolia which is a country in Asia. It is full of huge, wide open spaces that are fantastic for hiking and exploring. When I went there, the people were so friendly, welcoming and curious. I even stayed in a special Mongolian tent called a yurt, which was great fun!! Everything seemed so cheap too, especially the food: I ate huge, filling meals in restaurants for just a few pounds! I would recommend this place to anyone!

I would love to go to New York: there is just so much I’d like to do there! I would like to visit all the amazing places that I have only seen in movies! I would love to wonder around Central Park and get lost in Manhattan. Taking a taxi ride in a famous yellow cab over the Brooklyn Bridge would be amazing! I love cheesecake so to eat the world famous New York cheesecake actually in New York would be a dream. I also love cheese burgers and hot dogs … this is the home of cheese burgers and hot dogs! How amazing it would be to go to the top of the Statue of Liberty! I hope I can go there one day!

Where have you been that was amazing and why? Or Where would you love to go and why? This is your chance to tell the school about it; you may even inspire someone to want to go there too!

This could be somewhere far away or it could be somewhere close. Either could still be amazing to you.
Tell us about it! If the standard is good, you will be using good English writing skills but ultimately, your description will want to make us go there too! Don’t forget to include a picture or pictures!
