On Thursday October 19th, Year 5 went on a trip to the Black Country Museum. They had been studying local history and the industry of The Black Country, so the trip gave them the opportunity to visit shops and houses, from the 1950s and earlier. They were able to see how different industries shaped the landscape of The Black Country, including venturing underground into an old coal mine. Finally, they took part in a 1920s school lesson, where they practised their handwriting and learned their times tables…while trying to avoid the cane!
